The Arts Institutes, which campuses are spread across the U.S., are known for their various courses in fashion, design, media and other art forms. This year, a couple of lucky students and graduates of the educational system will have an opportunity to showcase their newest collections at New York Fashion Week.

The nine students and past students will debut their Spring/Summer 2017 collections at the fashion event. This will be the eighth season that the campuses have teamed up with New York Fashion Week for this opportunity. With a theme of “Destinations” for the upcoming season, the designers were challenged with the tasks of creating inspirational work with the theme in mind. Through the meticulous process of creating a collection, these students and graduates will have to undergo sketching, fabric selection, garment construction, designer selection and all that entails presenting their work.

The nine finalists chosen have worked recently to finalize their collections with faculty mentors to ensure their work is ready for the show. The designers were chosen from locations all over including Chicago, Dallas, New York City, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, San Francisco, New York City, Philadelphia, and Vancouver. The collections will show at the event next month on Thursday, September 8 at The Art, Skylight at Moynihan Station.
