The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) has some good news for fashion students. The university is planning to offer degree programs in Fashion Design and Fashion Business Management that will be available starting this fall at its State University of New York (SUNY) Korea in Songdo.

Both degrees will be available at SUNY Korea this August. The application deadline for these programs will be June 30 with admission offered on a rolling basis after the date. The degree will also allow students to apply to FIT’s bachelor’s degree program in either Milan or New York for Fashion Design in the future.

"FIT is delighted to be able to offer students from all over Asia―including Japan, China, India, Thailand, and Vietnam―the opportunity of an FIT education in Korea," said Dr. Joyce F. Brown, president of FIT. "Students will be able to benefit from FIT's offerings, complete with its curriculum and faculty, on the vibrant and innovative Incheon Global Campus. All of higher education functions globally today, and it is among FIT's goals to educate students to be fluent in this environment."

FIT offers business fashion degrees at SUNY Korea

The programs make up two signature curricula of the college that apply to an associate’s degree in Applied Science. The programs are directly correlated to the fashion industry and helps students propel into the working world. Fashion Design was one of the first programs offered by SUNY and stands as trademark of the institution. The college’s Fashion Business Management program is also one of the oldest manifested in the United States, which prepares students for the business side of the fashion industry.

Classes for the program will begin on August 25, 2017 at the Incheon Global Campus in Songdo. In order to help educate fashion students with a strong foundation, SUNY Korea provides amenities for its students. The campus also houses a library, research labs, auditorium, sports center, dining hall, and more for its students.

Established in 2012, SUNY serves nearly 1.3 million students. The Korea institution serves as the first American university in Korea through the investment of South Korean and U.S. governments and SUNY at Stony Brook University. With the State University of New York offering more than 600,000 credit-bearing courses and programs, the school is dedicated to helping students from all over the country. With this international program offering, SUNY Korea will now be able to offer its students out of the country the same benefits as its U.S.-based students.
