All schools in Italy are closed at the moment due to the coronavirus, but students from Polimoda International Institute of Fashion Design and Marketing can still follow their classes online. The institute even hosts the first open day online edition on Friday March 13.

Polimoda integrated 30 online lessons on the Blackboard e-learning platform and began student project reviews via Skype and Whatsapp.

"We had already been working on the implementation of online learning for some time and when the Coronavirus emergency broke out, it was not difficult for Polimoda to adapt," says Director Danilo Venturi in a press release. "Technology helps us give a minimum of continuity to the lessons, but also lets us support the students and their families at a difficult time for everyone involved. We need to be aware that we are facing a historic transition and after the emergency, a general lifestyle change will remain and we will have to deal with it. Therefore, a new phrase has been coined at Polimoda: the remote future."

For the first time, an event organized for potential students and their families will take place remotely, allowing an unlimited audience to get to know the institute and its courses, e-meet leading teachers and schedule individual video interviews with one of the leading teachers. For participating in the open day students can register on the Polimoda website.
