Palm Angels, the Italian men's wear brand founded by Francesco Ragazzi, will now be going global in a multitude of high-end stores. Their in-store launch will start today where Colette, the French "brick-and-click" retailer, will dedicate one of their windows to the brand. Ragazzi, who is also art director of Moncler, decorated the windows with 40 gold skateboards, it's a visual display that will be certain to get your attention.
Colette is just the first layer of the cake, however. In June and July, London's Selfridges department store will make customized windows and corners celebrating Palm Angels available. Additional cities and stores that will see such visual displays included Dover Street Market, Eastnation, and United Arrows in Tokyo, The Webster in Miami, Antonia in Milan, Koon and 10 Corso Como in Seoul, and I.T in Hong Kong. Yoox Group's Thecorner.com will also launch a special project for Palm Angels on July 7.
Ragazzi presented his first collection to buyers last January, and now his label seems to be really taking off. Ragazzi draws inspiration for his entire line from skate culture, hence the 40 gold skateboards at Colette. He fuses references to skate culture with more preppy looks, and this aesthetic is the heart of the Ragazzi brand. He gives a refreshing new take on a long-standing American style.
Price points for his collection range from 142 to 197 dollars for a t-shirt, 549 dollars for a blazer, and 549 to 768 dollars for outerwear. The most luxurious pieces, such as the double breasted blazers and leather biker jackets can retail for as much as up to 1500 dollars. In June, the brand will be presenting their first spring collection to buyers and editors by appointment in Milan.
