H&M May sales up 9 percent

The H&M group’s sales including VAT increased by 9 percent in local currencies in May 2016 compared to the same month the previous year. Adjusted for calendar effects, the company said sales increased by 11 percent.

In the second quarter of 2016, from March 1 to May 31, sales including VAT increased by 5 percent in local currencies compared to the corresponding quarter last year. Sales including VAT converted into SEK increased by 2 percent and amounted to SEK 54,341million Swedish krona (6,531 million dollars). Sales excluding VAT amounted to 46,874 million Swedish krona (5,637 million dollars).

The total number of stores amounted to 4,077 on May 31, 2016 compared to 3,639 on May 31, 2015.
