Matalan reports rise in Q3 sales and EBITDA

For the 13 weeks to November 25, 2017, Matalan said that its full price sales increased 2.6 percent. Total revenue reached 293.8 million pounds (404.9 million dollars) compared to 299.4 million pounds (412.7 million dollars) in 2017, while EBITDA was 44.9 million pounds compared to 35.1 million pounds last year.

Commenting on the company’s performance Jason Hargreaves, Chief Executive Officer of Matalan, said in a statement: “The strong third quarter and December results released today continue the progress made in the first half, with the business delivering a great offer for our customers across our complementary store and online channels. Overall sales growth was strong in December at 7.3 percent, with store and online sales growing 6.2 percent and 24.7 percent respectively. Today we also announce the commencement of the process to refinance our existing notes due in 2019 and 2020.”

For the five weeks period to December 30, 2017, full price sales increased 2.6 percent with total revenue reaching 142.3 million pounds (196 million dollars) and EBITDA reached 22.3 million pounds (30.7 million dollars).
