Ted Baker adds two Non-Executive Directors to its board

Ted Baker has announced changes to its non-executive directorate, with effect from September 29, 2017. The company has appointed Anita Balchandani and Jennifer Roebuck as independent Non-Executive Directors, who the company said, will provide additional experience in digital and other related areas to support the continued growth of the business.

Commenting on the new appointments, David Bernstein, Chairman of Ted Baker, said in a media release: "We are delighted that Anita and Jennifer have joined the Ted Baker Board as Non-Executive Directors. Their retail and digital experience will be invaluable as we continue to develop the brand and we look forward to their respective contributions going forward."

Balchandani has been appointed Chairman of the remuneration committee and a member of the audit committee, and Roebuck has been appointed as a member of the audit committee.

Balchandani is a Partner of OC&C Strategy Consultants, an international strategy consulting firm, and an experienced non-executive director with broad international retail experience. She is currently a non-executive director and chair of the remuneration committee of AIM-listed Majestic Wine Plc, and a non-executive Director of Space NK Apothecary.

Roebuck, the company added, is an experienced digital and e-commerce executive with a background in digital transformation and brand marketing, particularly in the lifestyle and clothing sector. She is the co-founder of REVL, the events app, and has wide experience working with technology led start-ups.

The company also announced that Anne Sheinfield has stepped down as non-executive director after more than seven years in the role. Also with effect from September 29, 2017, David Bernstein CBE, Chairman, has stood down as a member of the audit committee to ensure membership of the audit committee is in line with best practice and corporate governance guidelines.
