As if opening Paris Fashion Week wasn't enough for Simone Porte Jacquemus, now he has to close Paris Fashion Week Men's with the debut of his new Jacquemus line. The independent designer has his grand unveiling set for June 25, just one day after the official men's shows.

Rumor has it that he might show in Marseille, where he presented a catwalk show in May 2017. Porte Jacquemus has a special connection to the place as he spent much of his youth there.

The designer chose a very smart time to launch menswear. According to a 2017 report by Edited, Menswear was expected to be headed towards 14 percent growth reaching 33 billion dollars by 2020. Menswear is currently growing faster than womenswear and the overall luxury market.

Porte Jacquemus has already released a teaser for his first menswear line featuring French rugby player Yoann Maestri, “the first Jacquemus man,” in a pair of white shorts, with a matching white dog, on rocks by azure waters.
