Fashion

Landing in the period between the main Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter collections, Pre-Fall is a transitional season that offers designers the opportunity to maximise their profits with the release of a smaller, more commercially-focused capsule range. This season also presents consumers with a sneak peek at the kinds of styles that will prove influential in the full fall season. With Pre-Fall 2016 now in full swing, the Trendstop team have analysed a selection of inspiring new trends emerging in contemporary womenswear. Taken from our daily Editor's Picks catwalk coverage on the Trendstop.com site, these Pre-Fall trends have been created with reference to directional collections by leading designer brands, including Chanel, Calvin Klein and Celine.

Lady of the Manor

A look of modern-classic elegance comes through for Pre-Fall 2016, as ladylike styles express a heritage-inspired undertone. We see pieces like oversized tweed overcoats and wide-leg pants paired with luxe satins and delicate sheers, creating a masc-femme look. Other interpretations see demure flowing dresses flourish with sophisticated floral prints.

Sensual Rustics

A play on texture informs new season womenswear, as rustic fabrics are refined with a newfound femininity. Across mélange knit and tonal patchworking, tactile surfaces lend themselves to softened silhouettes, relaxed draping and longline silhouettes, occasionally contrasted with sheers or velvets for added sophistication.

Subversive Sizes

Pre-Fall sees garments revisited with standout proportions, blowing up separates and co-ords with oversized shapes. XXL tailoring makes a statement with a masculine dimension, blurring the lines between formal and casual looks. Meanwhile, seasonal layering makes for directional stylings, as billowing coats are worn over longline dresses and chunky knits are bulked out with heavyweight sleeveless coats.
