Kimora Lee Simmons KLS expands to Los Angeles

Kimora Lee Simmons announced the expansion of personal brand high-end clothing line KLS to the U.S. The first flagship is set to open in Los Angeles on Beverly Drive.

Simmons hired Jacqui Wenzel as president of KLS Kimora Lee Simmons. According to Women’s Wear Daily, Wenzel will be in charge of wholesaling for the brand. In deciding to take on the role as president, Simmons conversed exclusively with Wenzel. “[Kimora] was very inspiring… Kimora herself played a big role in convincing me,” Wenzel told WWD. The Los Angeles store is scheduled to open in the next four weeks.

Kimora Lee Simmons, who also serves as president and creative director of Just Fabulous, is known for her contemporary, luxury collections. “I decided to create these pieces for myself, and for other women who sought to look polished and pulled-together not just for an ‘event’ but for an entire, wonderful, unpredictable day--and night,” said KLS of her collection. Her most recent collection includes a matte, neutral palette.

Aside from her urban womenswear line, her personal brand includes fragrances, books, and more. Her prices range from 600 to 3,500 dollars including business wear and casual upscale attire. Her line uses fabrics such as leather, cashmere, mesh, and more. Her first line was launched in 2007. Simmons also gained recognition for her previous work as a reality star and model. She is regarded now as a fashion mogul and known for her creative director work at JustFab.com.
