Moda Makers: The international showcase for italian fashion in Carpi

On 12-14 November, over 60 companies from Emilia’s fashion hub will take part in an event that will bring together hundreds of industry insiders from across the globe

Carpi’s manufacturing area is famous the world over for its ‘Made in Italy’ quality, product research and development, ability to forecast trends and the great attention paid to clients.

One of the main dates to enjoy a close-up look at the thousands of garments offered by producers is Moda Makers. Now in its eighth edition, the event takes place in Carpi - the clothing/textiles hub – from Tuesday 12-Thursday 14 November 2019, from 9.00 to 18.00.

Over 60 companies will be taking part in the most important event dedicated to planned fashion in Italy and one of the biggest in Europe. The labels will be presenting their creations for autumn/winter 2020/2021, breaking new looks a month in advance with collections of finished products and samples, extensive ranges and styles at a variety of price points.

Moda Makers is aimed at fashion industry insiders, mainly retail and wholesale buyers, from across the world. They will be attending to discover apparel clothing, knitwear, shirts and shawls in an area that extends to over 2700 square metres in the Carpi Fashion System Center. The venue was specially chosen by Carpi municipal council as an exhibition space.

The date is fundamental for the Carpi area and the region as a whole. The occasion will bring the city significant economic benefits (for the hotel industry, catering and transport) and increase its visibility on the international stage.

Among the reasons for the success and growing awareness of Moda Makers on the international scene is the fact that the production world is directly involved in the event. Flanking it is the Consorzio ExpoModena, which organises the event on behalf of Carpi Fashion System, the project promoting companies from the area established by CNA, LAPAM-Confartigianato, Confindustria Emilia, the Modena Chamber of Commerce and Carpi municipal council, with the fundamental contribution of the Fondazione CR Carpi.

A range of complimentary services are offered to visitors during their stay in Carpi. These include free parking, a cafeteria in the exhibition area, a transfer and taxi service to and from Bologna airport, the high-speed Mediopadana station in Reggio Emilia and Modena train station.

It is possible to pre-register on the modamakers.it website in order to avoid queueing at the event entrance and ensure the many benefits made available to visitors who pre-register; the site also provides directions and information about distances between the venue and other landmarks, suggestions for day trips and lists hotels and restaurants. The organising staff is on hand to help international buyers when they arrive in the exhibition space. This is situated in the city’s industrial area.
