Last week on April 9th, ModCloth opened its first pop-up in downtown Los Angeles. The popular e-retailer hasn’t opened any new temporary shops since its New York pop-up a couple years ago.

ModCloth, based in San Francisco, is known for its vintage prints and dresses. This year the company is trying experimental feats where the company will open brick-and-mortar stores and use trial and error to expand their business. The company used the pop-up in an effort to allow customers to try on clothing samples and try on their correct sizes. The shop offered customers who make purchases a free two-day shipping on their products.

On top of the newest pop-up in L.A., the company is testing a new concept for their showroom on April 16th. In downtown L.A., the showroom’s three-day display will allow customers to try on any of their clothes. With over 20 dressing rooms, the consumers will be able to try different sizes and get a complete retail experience. The customers can pick items on the showroom floor via iPads where they can scan the products. The items will include vintage products from local vendors, accessories, and house brand items from ModCloth.

According to WWD, about 5,000 people signed up for the event filling reservations. The showroom will be open this weekend from Thursday until Saturday.
