Saks Fifth Avenue has announced that it will be hosting its second annual designer showcase at Saks Downtown in New York City on April 7, 2017. In an effort to discover new designer talent, the department store has invited emerging designers to present their women's ready-to-wear collection in person. In order to be considered, designers must submit digital look books to be reviewed by Saks' fashion and buying offices. After review, select designers will be invited to the showcase.

“Saks believes in the future of fashion and is committed to supporting the industry’s next generation of talent,” says Saks Fifth Avenue chief merchant Tracy Margolies. “We’re thrilled to host our second Emerging Designer Showcase and look forward to seeing what all of the talented designers out there have to offer.”

As a result of the 2016 Emerging Designer Showcase, Saks picked up collections from two exciting brands, Roberta Einer and Vetta.

For designers to be considered for the award they must meet the following criteria: they must be women's ready-to-wear focused, they must bring a minimum of eight and a maximum of 12 samples for review, they must bring line sheets with wholesale and retail pricing, they must be able to fulfill orders and have shipping capabilities and they must bring current and past look books for review in addition to their samples.
