The Festival Mode & Design: A Huge Creating Process

Once a year, fashion and design fans come together to assist to the Festival Mode & Design (FMD) that takes place in the Quartier des spectacle in mid August. From fashion shows ,highly anticipated by the public, to conferences by influential acclaimed fashion and design gurus the festival is sure to be a blast for everyone! More performances are intended by other artists to make sure montreal's culture is fully used and shown!

In collaboration with the Casino de Montreal, the FMD is well established in the montreal culture. This unique festival is coming back better than ever for its 16th edition! Lasting only six days and six nights, the festival is awaited by approximately 500 000 fashion and design crazed fans. On the program: 80 Montreal designers, 20 fashion shows of emerging creators, 16 high end fashion shows, 15 different speakers, 30 pop-up boutiques and 75 models… this is something you do not want to miss!

FASHION SHOWS

The festival’s catwalk will take place in the heart of the Quartier des spectacles which will be open air, to die for! Not only will we have fashion’s most important brands on our main stage, but we will also be welcoming very talented emergent creators on the M.A.D. stage. Prepare yourself for all the fashion shows and more we have coming your way including street styling, music performances and live creating workshop!

DESIGN

Would the festival be complete without the design part? Of course not! Keep your eyes open when you’ll be visiting us this summer! The Quartier des spectacles will be transformed into a more design environment with different expositions and installations made for the occasion. You will find on the site of the festival more than 30 pop-up shops and fashion trucks for you to make new discoveries and maybe find new favorites from local designers!

Our free open air program will surely please all the fashion and design experts as well as all the visitors!

CONFERENCES

In addition to our free outdoor program we offer you worldwide known speakers coming straight from the fashion and design universe who will unveil their deepest secrets in private conferences animated by Stephane Le Duc. In our exclusive guests for the conferences we have: Trouble Andrew who will talk about his recent collaboration with Gucci, Scott Schuman from The Sartorialist blog who will talk about street style, Lise Watier and Jeanne Beker will discuss everything that goes into building successful cosmetics empire and to finish, the mastermind and the creator of the bandage dress Hervé Léger-Leroux will bring us in his glamourous univers of his impressive career path.
