London - She is the mother of four children and driving force behind her very successful and growing fashion label. She is married to one of the world's most desirable sportsmen and knows how to exit a plane without a hair out of place. She is of course Victoria Beckham, and her brand is rumoured to be on the hotlist of investors looking to strengthen their luxury portfolios.

Beckham has been closely watched for the past few seasons, now that her runway presentations have grown from fitted dresses and coats into bonafide collections.

The people in the boardroom are eyeing Mrs Beckham

The global media may be raving about Givenchy's New York outing, but it's the people in the boardroom who pull the financial strings who are eyeing Mrs Beckham.

Aside from the paparazzi interest of one of the world's most photographed women and families, Beckham cleverly knows how to gauge both consumer and media interest, allowing enough of a glimpse into her stylised life to keep them engaged without risking ennui.

So what did she offer for spring summer 2016 to make her even more appealing to a potential buyer/investor? Plenty of colour and print in among her usual palette of print-free neutrals and monochrome noted WGSN.

Colours came in pumpkin orange, rich blues and reds, as well as oversized gingham check cuts diagonally as seen in the opening looks. A surfer print (which one commentator said had “something of Warhol about it”), hibiscus flowers and key details like a single red pocket or blue neckband on a simple white dress. They appeared on their own or occasionally in a single look mash-up.

Beckham described it as “carefree” and “a very liberating collection,” unsurprising given that she’s not known for her love of print.

What notable is that this wasn’t a collection full of body con dresses for ladies who lunch, or just pieces to keep the press happy. Rather it was about wearability and development of a line with much more expansion potential than her earlier collections. Perhaps her business partner Simon Fuller had a hand in this, as when it comes to being attractive to the major fashion houses they look for something which has global appeal and potential for growth. And that's exactly what Beckham has in spades.
