The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has become a leader in fashion trends emphasizing bohemian and vintage clothing. Known for its musical acts both mainstream and underground, the three-day festival has become a must-see fashion event for Los Angeles locals. Mixed in with fashion moguls, models, bloggers, and top brands; the event has become a fashion frenzy in its own right.

The fashion events that took spotlight during the festival include the H&M Loves Coachella party, Pandora Jewelry’s fashion shows, a Harper’s Bazaar Coachella pop-up, the Soho Desert House, and others. Sephora set up a beauty bar at the event for participants, while Paper and Pacsun hosted their nine-year running Neon Carnival. The Paradiso party, hosted by A-Ok Collective and Refinery29 included a fashion-based pool party. The fashion runway show by Pandora Jewelry included designers Nanette Lepore, Tracy Reese, Siwy Denim, and WHiT. The Council of Fashion Designers of America also attended and added the event to its calendar this year. “Coachella has almost become fashion week for people in California and LA,” Kari Feinstein, Los Angeles style lounge publicist, told ABC News.

The event not only directs attention to the fashion moguls of Coachella through pool parties, brands, and bloggers, but also through new lines that are inspired by the festival’s style. Jackie Aiche, a jewelry designer, teamed up with For Love and Lemons to make a high-end clothing collection designed exclusively for Coachella goers. Claire’s holds a festival-inspired collection by Katy Perry entitled Forever Festival collection. Net-A-Porter also has a “Coachella Cool hub” where bohemian pieces are available for event attendees.

The festival includes fashion parties, brunches, and shows that encompass an alternatively cultural side of Coachella. The event allows those in the fashion industry to display and present their clothing in a new, exciting way for guests. The event pales in comparison to New York Fashion Week, but with this years’ retail and fashion expansions; the Coachella fashion world has continued to deliver.
