Luxury retailer Barneys New York has named Marina Larroudé as fashion director. The former Teen Vogue fashion and accessories director will start with the retailer in January and will be responsible for designer discovery, product development, and marketing.

Barneys said that her responsibilities will primarily revolve around designer discovery and that Larroudé will be working closely with established and emerging brands, as well as leveraging exclusives which will continue to “reinforce and further elevate the discerning edit of Barneys New York products”.

Additionally, Larroudé will collaborate on the Barneys New York women's private label ready-to-wear, shoes, handbags, and accessories, from design through production. The former Teen Vogue director will also manage all trend reports, liaise between vendors, the merchant team, and the marketing team to curate the products featured in the mailers, digital lookbooks, social media, and TheWindow.Barneys.com.

Larroudé joins Barneys on January 3, 2017, and will report to Jennifer Sunwoo, executive vice president and general merchandise manager of women's and brand licensing.

"We are thrilled to have Marina join the team, lending a fresh outlook and discerning editorial eye," said Sunwoo. "Marina shares our enthusiasm for discovering new designers and dedication to nurturing emerging talent, which falls directly in line with the Barneys DNA.”

Prior to her role at Teen Vogue, Larroudé spent eight years at Style.com and Men.Style.com, working as the fashion market director and market editor, respectively. Larroudé has also worked for Temperley London and Vogue Brazil.
