Destination Maternity brings in new temporary CEO

Destination Maternity announced a new interim chief executive officer for its company, effective January 3. The company has tapped Melissa Payner-Gregor to take over the new role, succeeding Allen Weinstein in the process.

Weinstein held the role as chief executive officer since September 2017. Recently, he chose to retire from the Board for personal reasons that were not disclosed. With this new change, the company moved forward to bring on Payner-Gregor to step in as new interim chief executive officer. "We are grateful to Allen for his service on our Board for the last seven plus years as well as his recent service as interim CEO and the progress that has been made," chairman of the board Barry Erdos said n a statement. "We are also appreciative of Melissa's willingness to lead the Company during this period of transition, and we are confident that she and our senior management team will continue our forward progress, as we to look for the right chief executive to lead Destination Maternity's next phase of growth."

There will also be a new establishment of an "Office of the CEO," according to a statement made by the company. The "office" will include Ronald J. Masciantonio, the Company's Executive Vice President & Chief Administrative Officer; David Stern, the Company's Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer; and Shelley Liebsch, the Company's Senior Vice President of Merchandising and Design. While the new team is set, currently the company is working with Kirk Parlmer Associates in its search for a permanent replacement.
