Rue21 announces three new executive appointments

North American fast fashion chain Rue21 has making changes to its leadership team. The company has appointed three new executives, filling the roles of senior vice president, chief human resources officer, vice president for e-commerce and digital and vice president of guys merchandising.

Serving the roles of senior vice president and chief human resources officer, Brian Rogers joins Rue21 from Ascena Retail Group. He spent seven years with the company after holding roles with L Brands and Nike. In his role with Rue21, Rogers will direct all of the people functions and report to CEO Michael C. Appel.

Robert Brous was appointed to the role of vice president for e-commerce and digital, responsible for leading growth initiatives through online marketing, planning, operations, implementation and management of the company's e-commerce business. Brous will also report to Appel. Brous was previously senior director e-commerce for Spencer Gifts' Spirit Halloween.

Rue21 has appointed Michael Cingolani to the role of vice president of guys merchandising. Reporting to senior vice president and CMO Karen Pinney, Cingolani will develop and implement merchandise strategy for all categories within menswear. He most recently served as division merchandising manager for men's and boy's apparel with Tillys and held previous positions with Foor Locker, PacSun, Kohl's and American Eagle Outfitters.

"As we successfully grow our business, our collaborative culture enables the organization to manage the business real time and both anticipate and react to the fast-changing junior marketplace so we can give our customers great on- trend fashion at amazing value," Appel said in a statement.

"With this strong leadership team in place we will continue to drive the positive momentum of our Girls business, while focusing on further strengthening men's, etc., and plus in 2019."
