Belk just announced that it will be opening three new stores by the end of next year. The new stores will open this year and include an assortment of products that encapsulate a modern, southern aesthetic.

The stores will open in Evans, Georgia; Bowling Green, Kentucky; and Hagerstown, Maryland. The new locations are part of a nearly 40 million dollar investment for store remodels and capital improvements for the company. Belk is focusing on improving the customer experience as well as including a “buy online and pick up in store” service. The stores will also have phone charging stations as well as a new service desk that will help with gift-wrapping, returns and Belk Rewards Card payments. "We really want to be an asset to the communities in which we operate," said Lisa Harper, Belk CEO. "Our goal – and really, our hope – is to build lasting relationships with our customers and associates."

Founded in 1988, the enhancements are meant to provide a more premiere shopping experience for customers. The company is remodeling 12 existing stores this year in addition to adding on the new locations. “We've been successful in making a personal connection between our brand and our customers," said Harper. "Our customers truly believe they know us and we are a part of their community; and they feel Belk is their store. We want to provide that level of personal connection in every community we enter." The new locations will offer a full range of national brands as well as emerging, private labels. Belk retails brands such as Crown and Ivy, Kaari Blue, New Directions, and more.
