Los Angeles - SoCal-based footwear company Emu Australia is moving its headquarters back to its roots. The premium shoewear brand just announced plans to move its offices from Michigan back to California.

Originally, the retailer’s headquarters were based in Michigan due to chief executive of North America Scott Sidle’s place of residence. For the past five years, the company was planted in Grand Rapids so that it would be closer in location to Sidle. However, Emu Australia has moved closer to its warehouse in Southern California. The headquarters are now in Valencia, which will make it easier to transfer goods to stores in an efficient manner. The move will also allow for the brand and design team to focus more on its upcoming spring and summer business. The new direction of focus is due to the brand’s increasing popularity with their shoe line in those seasons. “Emu’s spring/summer line has doubled in sales volume every year since it first launched,” president of Emu Australia Dan Singer told Vamp Footwear.

The successful shoe company was founded in 1994 as an Australian footwear brand that emphasizes comfort and simplicity. The shoes, which originated with coastal influences, prides itself on craftsmanship and using natural materials. The company operates as a retailer and a wholesaler with a little over 100 employees. Now, with the new move closer to the warehouse, the company can better distribute and ship goods to its customers providing an overall better service.
