Lululemon has started selling books. The cult athletic wear brand partnered with publisher Penguin Random House to launch a pop-up shop quite different from the brand’s existing retail spaces - a library. Located in Lululemon’s HUB Seventeen space in the famed Flatiron building in New York, the pop-up space is all about reading and literature.

The HUB Seventeen space has already existed as an area for Lululemon to promote the consumer experience and engage with its customers through a community. The brand hosts fitness classes including yoga and barre in the space, a variety of events and a coworking area in the 3500-square foot location.

Lululemon’s new pop-up library allows a space for visitors to read or borrow books or use iPads to listen to audiobooks. Literature-themed events will take place in the space, such as celebrity book readings and curated food experiences. The motive of the library is to expand HUB Seventeen’s communal aspects through learning and discussion.

The space will be open to the public through spring 2019.
