California-based sneaker brand SeaVees and men's lifestyle brand Taylor Stitch are teaming up for a new sneaker model. Here's the catch, the shoe, called the 12/64 Middie sneaker, will only be produced with Workshop crowdfunding support.

The terms of the collaboration stipulate that the Middie will go live on Taylor Stitch's website on April 17 and will be offered for two weeks. Any pre-ordered shoes will be produced and shipped six to eight weeks later. Those who order early will receive a small discount, and will also receive the shoes before they are released to the general public this summer.

The Workshop is a crowd sourcing platform similar to Kickstarter that will help Taylor Stitch cut down on any inventory risk.

The 12/64 Huntington Middie takes its name from the date in 1964 when when Surf Guide, a magazine about surfing, covered the U.S. Surfboard Championships in Huntington Beach, California. The slip-on boot comes with SeaVees rubber herringbone outsole, and features other details like a suede upper and perforated footbed.

The price point for the shoe will be 87 dollars for pre-order and 108 dollars after it goes into production. The shoes will be available in white, black, and brown.

This collection marks the first time Taylor Stitch has done footwear.
