Singer Beyoncé is to headline Gucci’s ‘The Sound of Change’

concert at London’s Twickenham Stadium in June.

The concert, part of Gucci’s international campaign Chime For Change which aims to raise funds for female empowerment, will be broadcast globally and will also include performances from Ellie Goulding, Florence and the Machine, John Legend, Rita Ora, and Timbaland.

Announced by Hollywood actress Salma Hayek-Pinault, who is part of the initiatives founding committee along with Beyoncé and Gucci creative director Frida Giannini, the event will be underwritten by Gucci so that all ticket sales will support projects pursuing change for girls and women, specifically in the areas of ‘Education, Health and Justice’.

Beyoncé, the event's artistic director, said: "Our goal is to call for change for girls and women in the loudest voice possible. I am excited for us to come together on June 1st to bring the issues of Education, Health and Justice for girls and women to the world stage."

Giannini added: "This is the emergency and the opportunity of today. We have reached a significant moment in the history of girls' and women's empowerment and now is the time for change.”

The concert will take place on June 1 and tickets go on sale today, Wednesday, March 27 via www.chimeforchange.org and www.ticketmaster.co.uk.
