London - French luxury-streetwear brand Vetements have been granted a guest membership to show on the couture calendar in July by the Fédération Française de la Couture, du Prêt-à-Porter des Couturiers et des Créateurs de Mode, the country's governing body for industry.

Together with other acclaimed international designer labels, J.Mendel, Iris Van Herpen, Yuima Nakazato and Francesco Scognamiglio, Vetements will take to the catwalks to present their designs. Set to run from July 3 to 7, Couture week annually elects new guest members to show on schedule.

"It will be a collection set between ready-to-wear and haute couture, both for men and women, and will encompass four seasons," said Jean-Pascale Hesse, Vetements longtime collaborator and friend of creative director Demna Gvasalia, to WWD. The show will be followed by a capsule collection, which will be featured in a pop-up store at Edith Mezard’s Château de l’Ange, near Goult until the end of summer.

Members which have been reappointed by the supervisory board of the couture's governing body include Ralph & Russo, Schiaparello, Aoudi, Guo Pei, Ilja, Julien Fournié, Ulyana Sergeenko and Zuhair Murad. Fashion houses must first been approved by the French Ministry of Industry in order to use the title of haute couture.

In order to be officially become a member of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, overseen by Ralph Toldano, fashion houses and designer must uphold the struct standards of couture. This includes offer made-to-order designs for private customers, employing 15 workers or more in an atelier in Paris and presenting two collections on schedule per year, in January and July.

In addition to the guest showing on schedule, Pierre Cardin is set to showcase his collection at the Château du Marquis de Sade in Lacoste, France, on July 9.
