"I’m in the business of making people’s lives easier through fashion," said Michael Kors in a statement on the collection. "I thought, ‘Why can’t tech accessories be chic and glamorous?’ You wear them every day. After all, technology is impacting life more and more. It should reflect your personal taste as much as anything else, but it should also give you access to all the experiences that you want."

The smartwatch, which was designed to be both stylish and functional, receives notifications of incoming calls, text messages and other messages. It also features other functions such as directions, calendar notifications and provide fitness tracking. The watch also works together with apps such as Instagram and can work with iPhones, but works best paired with an Android device.

"Our brand is built on giving our customers what they want for their 24/7, fast-paced lifestyle," said John Idol, chief executive officer and chairman at Michael Kors. "We know they’re busy and need to be connected. We’re now offering them a smartwatch that lets them have access to a world of glamour, escape and adventure."

The collection is available as of today in Michael Kors stores in 18 countries around the globe, including the US, the UK, Hong Kong, India, Japan and Mexico, online and selected retailers. It marks the brands debut wearable technology line developed by Fossil Group. Prices for the smartwatch range from 350 to 395 dollars, with the separate bands retailing for 40 to 50 dollars.
