The sports wear group announced this week that it had prolonged its

existing partnership with the Fédération Internationale de Football Association. Adidas will continue to be the 'official partner, Supplier and Licensee of the FIFA Football World Cup and all other FIFA events' for the next 17 years, up to 2030.

The company will also continue to make the official match football for the World Championships and provide uniforms for all volunteers who help in upcoming tournaments.

Herbert Hainer, Ceo of Adidas Group, said in a press statement that the company is “happy and proud that our close relationship with FIFA will continue.” Thierry Weil, marketing director at FIFA added the organization is “looking forward to writing new chapters of football history together” with Adidas.

"Without the support of long-term partners such as Adidas, it would simply not be possible for FIFA to host global spectacles such as the FIFA World Cup and to continue our work to develop football worldwide," concluded Weil.
The partnership between FIFA and Adidas dates back to the 1970 World Cup, when Adidas provided the official match ball and outfits for the volunteers.
