The quality behind Hermès

The artistic director of Hermès, Pierre-Alexis Dumas, has revealed some images of the luxury's house craftsmanship. The photos depict the work that go into making one of its bags, including the pattern cut leather and the intricate sewing.

“We belong neither to the world of luxury nor to the world of fashion,” Dumas told the Business of Fashion. “This is a family house that goes back six generations. We did not invent our craft, we are the recipient of an age-old tradition, mixed with something which is perhaps proper to my family, a desire for excellence, and maybe something a little bit obsessive and mad about detail.”
