Maison Martin Margiela has stealthily changed its name, a slight detail that seems to have been overlooked by many during John Galliano haute couture comeback show in London on Monday.

The Parisian-based fashion house has dropped Martin, the first name of its eponymous founder, from its name and is now simply known as Maison Margiela. A spokesperson said to the New York Times that the name change “reflects the evolution of the house," adding that the label reband also "applies to the brand as a whole, not just the Artisanal collection shown on Monday."

Although the new name was printed on the coveted invitations and show notes, the fashion house did not make any official announcements regarding its name change. Maison Margiela aims to bring the rest of the label in line with the name change over the next few months.
