Perry Ellis names new managing director for Europe

Perry Ellis International has named Elliott Brown as its new European managing director, replacing Francisco Gonzalez-Meza Hoffmann who is leaving to “pursue new career paths”.

Brown has previously held roles at Wolverine Worldwide, where he served as vice president overseeing its heritage brands, prior to that, he held senior roles at Barbour, Converse and Levi’s.

In his role as European managing director, Brown will be responsible for overseeing the Original Penguin, Farah and Callaway apparel brands, which are currently undergoing significant expansion within the European market.

“We are delighted to welcome Elliott to Perry Ellis Europe,” said George Feldenkreis, CEO and chairman of Perry Ellis International. “We are confident that his solid commercial experience and leadership will further accelerate our strategic expansion throughout Europe.”

Brown added: “Perry Ellis International has an amazing portfolio of world-class brands with true heritage and authenticity backed by a very loyal and credible global consumer base. The brands within our EU portfolio are experiencing dynamic growth in revenue and profitability.

“I am very excited and proud to have been selected to help take Perry Ellis Europe into its next phase of growth across all channels of distribution during this time in our industry.”

Brown will be based in Perry Ellis’ European office in London and will report into Stanley Silverstein, president of international development and global licensing.

In other news, Perry Ellis also announced that it has entered into two new licensing agreements with Black Label Clothing, an affiliate of Dayang Group China, to design, manufacture and market men's tailored clothing including suits, jackets, trousers, waistcoats, formal shirts, formal coats as well as neckties under the Original Penguin brand in the UK, Ireland and Continental Europe.
