Things have gone from bad to worse for Macintosh Retail Group, as its court appointed administrators have filed for bankruptcy in Maastricht, the Netherlands whilst withdrawing the group previously granted suspension of payments. However, the suspension of payment for subsidiaries Dolcis B.V, Invito B.V, Hoogenbosch Retail Group B.V, Manfield B.V and PRO Sport B.V are still in effect.

All stores and shops from the Macintosh Retail Group will remain open in the intermediate time, as the administrators, together with the management board continue to explore all future options for the company, said the group in a press release. A future possibility still includes a potential sale of the group as a whole or in parts, with the best interest of the employees, creditors and stakeholders in mind, stressed the group.

The announcement comes a week after the parent company of footwear retailers Manfield, Dolcis and Invito file a request for the suspension of payments for the holding company and its chains, with the exception of Scapino and Brabanto.
