Although his fashion house didn’t survive, Christian Lacroix is now way near saying goodbye

to his fashion design days. Presented during Barcelona Fashion Week, Lacroix created a new collection for Spanish fashion label Desigual by the name of Monsieur Lacroix, as he is no longer authorized to use his own name post his bankruptcy.

This is the first fashion range he designed since he had to close down his couture label. Before the fashion design collaboration with Desigual, Lacroix turned to other projects such as curating exhibitions, and designing tram-conductor uniforms, and opera costumes.

The Desigual by Monsieur by Lacroix collection for AW11 will feature thirty pieces, which includes skirts, jackets and lingerie. As a publicity exercise, Desigual invited customers in their underwear to its Soho store to be gifted complementary pieces of the collection. Previously, the label handed out free clothing in New York, Barcelona, Madrid, Amsterdam, and Lisbon.
