Crocs plans store launches, to add accessories

US-based premium footwear brand Crocs is looking

at doubling its exclusive store-count in India this year. It also plans to enter into licencing agreements to add accessories to its product portfolio. The Nasdaq-listed company, which entered the domestic market in 2007 under a joint venture with Chogori Footwear, would also ramp up its presence in the multi- brand outlets to enter the growing small town market. The $1 billion footwear maker is also present in around 250 large formats, multi-brand stores in the country, including Metro, Lifestyle and Planet Sports.

Born in Boulder, Colo as a simple, comfortable boat shoe, today Crocs footwear can be found across the globe and in more than 120 styles for men, women and children. With distinct collections, Crocs offers colourful, lightweight comfort for any occasion and every season. All Crocs shoes are uniquely designed and manufactured using the company’s proprietary closed-cell resin, Croslite, a technology that gives each pair of shoes the soft, comfortable, lightweight, non-marking and odour-resistant qualities.

The brand has a pan India presence with a reach of more than 300 doors at the wholesale level and a network of 21 concept stores, including in Mumbai, Delhi, Noida, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Pune, Goa, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Ludhiana, Amritsar and Jalandhar.
