The Fashion Institute of Technology will honor Karl Lagerfeld on September 10 at the Avery

Fisher Hall in New York's Lincoln Center Plaza. Lagerfeld will receive the Fashion Visionary Award at the Couture Council Luncheon that Friday afternoon. The award is expected to be presented by Chanel muse Diane Kruger and the chairwomen of the board include Daphne Guinness, Amanda Brooks, Poppy Delevinge and Lauren Santo Domingo, among others.

Proceeds from the event will benefit The Museum at FIT, New York’s only museum devoted solely to the art of fashion. Profits from the luncheon will enable the museum to feature exhibitions, such as the upcoming Japan Fashion Now (September 2010-January 2011) and Daphne Guinness (September 2011-January 2012).
