US brand J.Crew is planning to make its first foray into the Asia-Pacific region by opening its first two stores in

Hong Kong in May.

One of the new stores will house the J.Crew women’s collection; the other one the brand’s men’s collection. The former will be located at the International Finance Centre (IFC mall) and span 3,200 square feet. According to a statement by J.Crew, it will feature “carefully edited selection of the most exclusive and special fabrics and prints, limited-edition designs, Italian cashmere and a dedicated shoe and handbag salon”.

The menswear store will be a bit smaller, spanning 2,100 square feet and will be located in Hong Kong’s central neighborhood on On Lan Street. Here, customers will be able to find the brand’s full range of Ludlow suits, shirtings and shoes as well as selected items from J. Crew’s collection In Good Company, which features brands selected by the design team including Ebbets Field Flannels, Barbour, New Balance and Vans.

Since J.Crew decided to bank on expansion, the interest in the New York-based company has already increased. J.Crew opened three stores in the UK in the fall and one in Toronto just last week.
