Manolo Blahnik joins LFW schedule

Luxury footwear designer Manolo Blahnik is set to make his London Fashion Week

debut in September with a presentation for his spring/summer 2014 collection.

The designer, who has never held an official spot on the LFW schedule, was involved last season after sketching the official artwork, which was used across all marketing, campaigns, and wrapped the official tent in Somerset House.

The 70-year-old designer, who gained worldwide fame thanks to TV’s Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City, will hold his presentation on Sunday, September 15 the same day as Mulberry, L’Wren Scott and Jonathan Saunders.

The brand joins other accessory brands on the LFW schedule including luxury brand Smythson who will also be making their debut and emerging shoe designer Sophia Webster, who is tipped as the next big footwear talent.
