German designer Philipp Plein has opened his first boutique in New York on

Madison Avenue, adding to the brand’s first US store in Miami and its NY showroom overlooking Central Park, which both opened last year.

Covering 1,500 square feet, the store at 625 Madison Avenue, houses its entire men’s and women’s collections from its ready-to-wear pieces to its accessories, footwear, bags and jewellery lines.

Plein worked with Milanese architecture firm Aquilialberg to design a new luxurious concept for the brand that is described as being more “refined yet impactful”. The store interior features large blocks of marble, stainless steel fittings, as well as the brand’s hexagonal logo on the walls, windows and ceilings, and there is also a black version of Plein’s iconic Swarovski crystal skull, which acts as the stores centrepiece.

The New York opening marks a step forward in the brand’s international expansion plans, earlier this year Plein told WWD that the label’s next steps in conquering the US market would be to open in San Francisco, Aspen and Las Vegas, as well as open concessions within department stores.
