Ted Baker saw its total group revenue up by 18% in the 19 weeks from 31 January to 12 June
and gross margins maintained in line with expectations.
Retail sales rose by 20.4% with average retail square footage up by 10% over the period. Wholesale sales for the period were up by 8.2%. The re-launch of the US wholesale business has started well, Baker said, while the licence business continues to perform in line.
"We have made a good start to the financial year and I am pleased with our performance, especially in our overseas markets. Whilst we are mindful of the uncertain macro economic environment, these strengths continue to drive our business forward and we have been pleased with the customer response to our Spring - Summer collections," chief executive Ray Kelvin said.
