Yves Saint Laurent is relocating its ready-to-wear ateliers and ‘salons de couture’

to the Left Bank of Paris.

The luxury label will move to a 17th Century townhouse called L’Hôtel de Sénecterre located at 24 Rue de l’Université. The building spans 22,600 square feet and YSL said it will move into the building in the autumn.

The relocation is part of the re-branding process, which Hedi Slimane has rooted in the history of the fashion house, and this district of Paris was an inspiration to the labels eponymous founder in the Sixties, who named his Rive Gauche ready-to-wear line after the area.

Slimane’s principle design studio will remain in Los Angeles, where the designer is based, while the brand’s corporate headquarters will remain on Avenue George V.
