This is a great opportunity for a student or graduate to gain some experience in working in a busy and challenging environment.
The successful applicant will need to have an interest in business marketing and sales and have accomplished English and numerical skills. Kate Langrish is an award winning Miami based Milliner, who designs and makes a broad range of hats from couture to prêt-a-porter. Having just won the Hat Designer of The Year 2010 award, Kate is looking for assistance in the production of her debut Autumn/Winter 2011 Collection to be shown in Paris next March.
The role requires someone who has experience of sewing by hand and machine, and who preferably has some millinery experience, although this is not essential, as long as they possess a good eye for detail and are quick and keen to learn.
He/she will assist with the development and production of the collection, including fabric cutting, blocking, hand sewing to a couture level, quality control, as well as some studio and admin duties.
English language skills are essential, and you must be a confident communicator both verbally and creatively. A background in some form of art and design is preferable.
It is a flexible part-time internship of between 1-2 days per week.
