Roman fashion house Valentino is to debut its first standalone menswear boutique. The company has thoroughly been expanding its men's business and the store will reflect its growing importance on its men's fashion offer.

The first
store will open in Paris and designer Maria Grazia Chiuri commented: “Florence was fantastic, but Valentino is connected to Paris historically, it’s always shown there and we want to offer a global vision of the brand”

“Men’s can now be associated with Place Vendôme, our headquarters and the brand,” added designer Pierpaolo Piccioli, emphasising an importance on having “the same execution” for men and women.

“We didn’t overturn the men’s category, but changed it from within, with more interesting constructions and fabrics,” Piccioli added.

Thanks to financial support from Qatar-based company Mayhoola for Investments, which bought Valentino Fashion Group in July, the label will open a number of new menswear boutiques, first in Paris, followed by London and then Milan.

Architect David Chipperfield will be responsible to create the Valentino aesthetic for the stores.
