Hermès Tie Break

Hermès has apps to help you discover new ways to wear your scarf and to discover its magazine, and now it is adding an app for its tie enthusiasts, Tie Break.

Available free at the Apple App store and Google Play for Android devices, the smartphone app is targeting men who want to take a break from the “harsh realities of office, airport or public transport…or even a dull date” with a “random dose of Hermès” as well as promoting its extensive tie collection.

Each pull of Hermès’ signature orange tie reveals one of seven “breaks” including animated GIFs, games, funny phrases, true/false stories, comics and videos. It also showcases the fashion house’s newest collections and patterns, where you can try on a tie by placing your phone next to your shirt, and a step-by-step guide on “how to knot” a tie.

The app also links directly to the Hermès website to make purchasing a tie easy, as well as having a store locator. The fashion house has even created a corresponding tie that has a barcode on the back, which, when scanned, takes the user straight to the app.
