Karl Lagerfeld x Barbie

Mattel Inc., the toy company known for its infamous Barbie doll has teamed up with iconic designer Karl Lagerfeld to create a limited edition “Barbie Lagerfeld” doll.

“Working with Karl Lagerfeld for this unique creative collaboration has been an incredible honor,” said Kim Culmone, vice president global Barbie product design. “It’s not every day that Barbie dresses like the world’s most famous fashion designer.”

The doll, which is set to launch sometime this fall, will become part of the Barbie Collector label. Her look is inspired by the designer himself and his own eponymous label. Barbie's outfit includes a tailored black jacket, a white high-collared men's shirt with French cuffs, skinny black jeans as well as black fingerless gloves, sunglasses and black ankle boots.

“It has been great fun for Karl and the team to dress Barbie in this iconic style” added Pier Paolo Righi ceo and president of Karl Lagerfeld's label. Further information concerning “Barbie Lagerfeld” will be released at a later date.
