New York Fashion Week always closes with the Marc Jacobs show, however this season his collection was particularly poignant as it was his first since departing the house of Louis Vuitton last year.

In a departure from his SS14 collection, which was decorative to say the least, Jacobs opted for a clean palette in soft neutrals and pastels, elongated the silhouette and accentuated with scoop and v-necks.

There was a modern 60s aesthetic, which saw linear curves and patterns exposed on tunics and sheaths, accompanied by the models' bobbed hair worn in a headband.

Key items include the tunic, which was seen in a variety of lengths, fine cashmere tops, layered dresses and luxurious cropped bomber jackets.

This show was pared-down luxury the downtown way, proving Jacobs is back on form.
