Swedish Fashion Association is the membership platform founded in 2009 by fashion brands Acne Studios, Cheap Monday, Filippa K, Hope, Tiger of Sweden and Whyred, together with the fashion magazine Bon, communications agency Patriksson Group and Visit Sweden. Swedish Fashion Association is an independent organisation created by and for the Swedish fashion industry with the purpose of bringing together, support, promote and grow Swedish fashion in Sweden and abroad. With an agenda that includes hands on advice and support as well as events and activities like international fashion weeks and -conferences Swedish Fashion Association aims to encourage and develop entrepreneurship and innovation within the Swedish fashion industry. They offer business support, statistics reports, collaborative groups and programmes around topics like sustainability and innovation. The SFA organises activities, like Stockholm Fashion Week and other Swedish fashion events during the international fashion weeks in New York, London and Paris. They also represent Swedish fashion in media, towards the authorities, and collaborate with other Swedish organisations within textile and trade. The goal is to increase exports of Swedish fashion to growing markets, thereby increasing results, as well as inspire with Swedish fashion’s unique clean cut, modern and functional design and leading position within sustainability and technology.
THE VISION: Contribute to economic growth and position Sweden as a prominent industry influencer within fashion, sustainability and tech in the global fashion world. THE MISSION: Nurture interests of the Swedish fashion industry on a national and global level, contribute to increased international positioning and export of Swedish fashion and drive and support entrepreneurship, sustainability, innovation in the Swedish fashion industry.
