Prepare for a creative summer with “Discoveries by ESMOD”! These introductory programs offer a first immersion into the world of fashion through interactive workshops, creative experimentation and cultural exploration.
Organized across the ESMOD France network — Paris, Bordeaux, Lyon, Rennes and Roubaix — these summer courses invite participants to explore fashion culture, illustration, creative processes, fashion design and marketing.
Accessible from 15 years old, the programs allow participants to discover the fundamentals of fashion while developing their creativity and understanding the dynamics of the industry. Courses are taught in French or English depending on the program.

PROGRAMS IN PARIS
Fashion Culture
July 9–10, 2026
2 days — 12 hours
Understanding fashion culture means discovering how the fashion industry was built through history and how it continues to evolve today. Participants explore iconic designers, major fashion movements and contemporary trends shaping the industry. Through lectures, workshops and discussions, they learn how to analyze fashion shows and identify emerging designers.
Fashion Illustration
July 9–10, 2026
Fashion illustration is an essential creative tool for designers. In this workshop, participants experiment with drawing techniques and explore different media such as pencils, markers and watercolor. The course encourages students to develop their own graphic style and express their personal creative vision.
Exploring Different Creative Approaches
July 13–17, 2026
This creative workshop introduces participants to multiple design techniques used in contemporary fashion. From collage and textile experimentation to generative AI and 3D research on mini mannequins, students learn how to transform ideas into visual concepts and physical forms.
Introduction to Fashion Design & Patternmaking
July 13–24, 2026
2 weeks — 50 hours
Participants discover the foundations of the fashion industry while developing a
broad understanding of creative processes. They explore their creativity through
moodboards, hands‑on workshops (textile design,pattern making, draping), and
upcycling projects.
Introduction to Fashion Marketing
July 13–24, 2026
2 weeks — 50 hours
The participants explore their creative sensibility by creating a moodboard, selecting
and analyzing relevant visual sources. They also discover the creative dimensions of
marketing and retail through dynamic workshops and visits to experiential concept
stores.

The regional ESMOD schools offer short introductory workshops designed to explore fashion
culture and illustration.
Fashion Culture

Participants explore the history of fashion, iconic designers and major movements thatshaped the industry, while learning how to analyze contemporary trends.
Fashion Illustration
July 8–9, 2026
2 days — 12 hours
This workshop introduces participants to the fundamentals of fashion drawing and silhouette observation, encouraging experimentation with different creative techniques.
