Master of Fashion Enterprise Creation

Course Summary School: Amsterdam Fashion Institute (AMFI)

Location: Netherlands, Amsterdam

Education: Diploma

Our two year Master of Arts programme will prepare you to become a fashion entrepreneur by equipping you with all the skills you’ll need to operate. Be part of the next generation of the Amsterdam Fashion Institute’s (AMFI) Masters Fashion Enterprise Creation.
Our higher professional education programme covers the entire fashion chain from concept to consumer and is unique in the Netherlands. Our specialisations are built on the strength of our teaching body with our rapidly growing number of lecturers qualified with Doctorates, MAs, and real-world experience. With these strengths we are now exploring the role AMFI can play in delivering quality fashion-based research in the academic world.
Student Background
Students apply from all over the world to compete to study at AMFI for their training in design, branding, and management and many graduates wish to go on to start their own businesses based on the skills they have developed.
The MA FEC is aimed at providing this route for BA graduates, both international and Dutch, AMFI and others, who would like to start their own business in fashion. The MA is open to both recent and post-experience graduates who have not already registered their own business.
Programme
The MA aims to foster, strengthen, and evolve the link between creativity, manufacture and business by guiding and mentoring graduates in the development of an entrepreneurial proposal for setting up, starting and developing an independent fashion business and/or service, and launch of a new fashion product.
The programme offers an innovative experience that is different from other postgraduate fashion and business courses and is structured with a consideration for the mix of skills and backgrounds in each cohort of students.
The Master Fashion Enterprise Creation is a full-time, four semester study programme delivered over two consecutive years. Select modules of the programme are delivered in collaboration with the London College of Fashion and/or other international institutions.
Study load
The first year of this programme gives students 16 contact hours per week. Each year of study includes 42 weeks of teaching. A contact hour is 50 minutes.
Career opportunities
During this programme students register, start and operate their own fashion enterprise as entrepreneurs. The programme will provide students with a strong foundation in academic and business research, management expertise and training in the essential components needed to run a successful fashion enterprise.
