Fashion Designers and Craft makers (FDC) launched the Emerging Designer Award, the British association said in a statement.

The prize is an extension of the Young Designer Awards which is dedicated to highlighting outstanding aspiring young fashion and accessory designers from the United Kingdom. This award is aimed at ages from 9 to 29 years. Participants of 18 years or under will need permission from parents or guardians to apply.

Winners will be given the opportunity to show their collection at the FDC's Angelman Syndrome Charity Fashion Show in New York City.

The Brief

This year’s task is to design a garment based on the theme ‘Fashion meets Art’. The design of the garment must be inspired by a very famous artist that is well known to the general public, such as Andy Warhol, Leonardo da Vinci or Salvador Dalí.
