De Montfort University (DMU) in the United Kingdom, Leicester, has announced virtual opportunities for its students via DMU Global, an international experience programme launched in September 2020 to give students accessible learning without the need to travel due to the impact of Covid-19.

The virtual opportunities include free online conferences in Indonesia and Japan, virtual internships in Fiji and virtual summer schools in culture media and ICT with universities in Austria and Finland.

Leo Smith, head of global mobility at DMU, said in a statement: “While travel isn’t possible, we don’t believe that should be a barrier to DMU students having international experiences.

“In co-operation with our friends and partners globally, we are able to offer some exciting summer activities that will help students to explore a range of topics and network with young people across the world.”

Some of the deadlines close on 26 April.
