Florence-based private fashion school Polimoda embodies creativity, heritage and research. The university’s Italian roots run deep but continuously change and grow to adapt to the ever-changing fashion industry.

Origins

Since Polimoda was established in 1986, it is now in the top twenty fashion schools in the world in the year 2022, according to CEO World magazine.

The fashion school has a variety of relationships with industry professionals so that they can offer their expertise to support some of the courses the university offers to its students.

The fashion school has partnerships with luxury brands such as Bally, Richemont, Salvatore Ferragamo and Tod’s, trend forecaster Lidewij Edelkoort, Italian fashion house Gucci, Microsoft Garage and Vogue Italia, to make sure its students receive real-life experience from experts in the fashion industry.

Mentorship is also offered in some of the school’s courses by the CMO of Alexander McQueen Paolo Cigognini, Torsten Hochstetter, Caroline Issa, broadcaster and writer Tim Blanks, Marco De Vincenzo, Serge Girardi, Philip Fimmano, Lola Young, Kris Van Assche and Bruce Pask.

What to study?

There is a selection of fashion courses for students to choose from, including a Bachelor in Atelier Design, Fashion Accessories Design, Fashion Art Direction, Fashion Business, Fashion Design Management, Fashion Marketing Management, Fashion Styling and Product Management.

Students can also select a Master in Bag Design, Collection Design, Creative Direction, Fashion Art Direction, Fashion Brand Management, Fashion Critique and Curation, Fashion Design, Fashion Marketing and Communications, and Fashion Merchandising and Buying.

In addition to a Master in Fashion Styling, Fashion Trend Forecasting, International Fashion Business, Knitwear Design, Luxury Business, Product Management, Retail and Omnichannel Fashion Management, Shoe Design, Sustainable Fashion, and Textiles from Farm to Fabric to Fashion.

Polimoda also holds some seasonal and short courses consisting of fashion brand management, fashion design, fashion jewellery, fashion for metaverse, fashion marketing and merchandising, fashion photography, fashion trend forecasting and styling, luxury design management, and sustainable fashion.

News

Polimoda named Massimiliano Giornetti, the former creative director of Salvatore Ferragamo as the new director of the fashion school in 2021.

In 2019, Polimoda won the Best Education award during the 18th edition of Milano Fashion Global Summit.
